Hi'

I know Siemon produce this product, not designed an installation with it yet, but have used their 10G Cat6A products on a number of jobs and can vouch for the quality.

Cat7, very big in Germany and middle east.

Excellent company to work with as well.

Hope this helps

Ian..

A large number of specifications for the middle east are using the 1000MHz cat 7A cables as opposed to the 600MHz Cat 7 cables.

The biggest issue I have found with projects in the middle east is product availability. Suggest you talk with Anixter or other in country distributor about stock and material availability before selecting a manufacturer. Tyco, R&M, Nexans all have a Class F and Class FA screened solution.

Now its the year 2013.......cat7 and cat7A.....do they have a future ? ?.........methinks not, and one could argue that in over 90% of computer rooms cat6A doesnt have a future today either.

Today 10GBaseT Ethernet is supported on cat6, cat6A, cat7 & cat7A twisted pair structured cabling systems. Tomorrow if 40G Ethernet over twisted pair happens then none of the above categories will support this application, that is why cat8 is being considered today.

Tip for whats coming tomorrow only use 23AWG conductors in your new installations.

Something to ponder for 2013 and 2014 ......with new servers fitted with 10GBaseT as LOM ( lan on mother board) if you were one of those data centres that installed just fibre how will you support the copper Ethernet interfaces on your new servers?
