| | I thought the first rule of SIPRNET, was not to talk about the SIPRNET. Seriously though, I would like to hear more about this, is it top secret work, can you get into any more details? I have no experience personally, only read about it. |

| There isn't necessarily one way to install SIPRNET. Each branch has their own criteria and within that criteria it varies depending on things like what country you are in and what information will be going over the network. SIPRNET refers to the protocol not how it is physically installed. I have been involved with installations at Langley AFB in VA as well as at a military base in Kyrgyzstan and the isntallations were completely different. I have seen it installed above a false ceiling which is typically a no no but on that particular install, some company figured out how alarm the pathway. Any details on any install would probably be considered classified; if you do get into that work, the military folks would largely dictate exactly how they want it anyway. Good luck.

| | Specifically look for... UFC 3-580-01 (telecom Standard) UFC 3-580-10 (NMCI Standards) NSTISSI 7003 (PDS standards) JAFAN 6/9 DoD 5200.1 R These all have various pieces of information to help you out...some include information as to how you may or may not need to protect the SIPRnet cables within a PDS which is the most important aspect...the cable part of SIPRNET is still cable..... these should be available from www.wdbg.org ...or search the web for them, they are all unclassified.
