| | I have an RCDD stamp (showing the name of the person, designator # and expiration) ordered from http://www.mmmarket.net/. However, the stamp is big about a 2" in diameter. My problem is it won't fit on the stamping area. I noticed that there is a smaller stamp used but with different seal format (not showing the name of the person but with signature, Designator # and expiration), 1.5" high by 1" long. What is the standard seal of an RCDD used as in a stamp? Do we have a standard size for it (minimum and maximum size of the seal)? Thanks. |

| The last time I renewed my RCDD, I received the new larger stamp, so I assume this is the new "standard." It's nice, in that is has our name on it, but one drawback is that it no longer has a signature line.

| | Thanks, so the stamp that BICSI produces as a standard is the big one. |

| | Yes the new stamp still has the BICSI logo with your name on it. They already removed the signature area. You can still provide the signature on top of your name. |

I wonder when it was released. If the new BICSI logo was out in 2006, that means by next year all RCDDs will be using the new stamp. Right? It's all technical! RCDDs are the ones who keep up with the standards. So, if we see an old stamp...we know who's who! Kevin J

| Enclave (3/9/2009) Yes the new stamp still has the BICSI logo with your name on it. They already removed the signature area. You can still provide the signature on top of your name.I see why one would need the signature (before) for the stamp, but it comes with your name already on it, why use a signature?

My bias is that I work for an engineering company. All of the PE stamps have their name, registration number, and they are required to sign documents. That validates that they were in control of their stamp, and someone did not use it without their knowledge. Doug

Not only are you bonded by BICSI (name engraved into stamp) the RCDD endorses his/her designs! NICE!! Kevin J
