| | Have you read any ITS Books?? Whether it's design, installation or any topic for the ITS Professional. What book would you recommend to others so that they can become a successful ITS professional? Kevin J

| | Why not try the Bicsi's TDMM for starters...but of course it will take a while. Even if you've done that & got the certificate, it will always bring back something you forgot. |

| | waboyd, thank you for the reply. The Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM) is on my "daily dose" reading list. The main purpose of this topic is to find out what ITS "books" other ITS Professionals are reading today. Could you recommend a good read?

| | Telecommunication System Engineering, Wiley-IEEE Press; 4 edition is fantastic! A bit expensive, however you can buy used for half the price on Amazon. You can also preview a lot of books at amazon or http://books.google.com. Amazon also has that "people who bought this also bought this" thing which is cool. Direct Link to the previoulsy mentioned book on google book (Limited Preview Only). Telecommunication System Engineering |

Other reading materials that keep me occupied are the numerous trade publications I receive, both Telecommunications and electrical. These seem to come in faster that one finds time to read them. |

| | Thanks for the posts Felix! Attached is a book I read a few years ago - click here for a limited viewing. Someone shipped me Jim Hayes's book - "Data, Voice, and Video Cabling", which I haven't read yet. Does anyone have Telecommunications Essentials, by Goleniewski? I heard that might be good to look into - click here for a limited viewing. Kevin J

What about "quasi" which is a slang term? Maybe we could have a topic for Colloquialisms. Where do you look for the meanings of Acronyms? Kevin J The best resource I know of is: Newton's Telecom Dictionary. http://www.harrynewton.com/ Thanks Doug! Great book to have as a resource!
