Prior to TIA-607-B, the TBB was sized 2 kcmil/ft to a maximum of 3/0. For TIA-607-B and C, the TBB is still sized 2 kcmil/ft, but now the max size is 750 kcmil. Can anyone tell me what the justification for this is (what led to this change)? At 85 ft we've already exceeded 3/0, so it doesn't take much to make for an expensive cable in comparison to the 3/0.

TBB sizing language always says "should consider" the larger conductor sizes.
Plus, there are so many ways you can eliminate the TBB altogether
